CROS B was Phonak’s hearing solution for people with little or no hearing on one side and normal hearing on the other. It consisted of a combination of two Phonak instruments using the Belong technology platform; one of which only serves as a microphone and transmitter. This unit picked up the sound on the side with no hearing and transmitted it to the unit on the other ear with some or normal hearing.
The transmitter side could have been a Behind-The-Ear, non-custom unit or an In-The-Canal custom made from an impression taken of the ear and ear canal.
CROS B was also available with a Li-Ion rechargeable battery option to pair with other rechargeable Phonak hearing aids.
BI CROS B was basically the same with the difference that the side with hearing is less than normal and amplification is needed on that side.
